Center for Evolutionary Learning
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026
Center for Evolutionary Learning (“CEL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a non-profit, global network of researchers and trainers specialized in individual, group, and organizational development. Through our CEL Corporate Wellness platform (the “Platform”) we provide secular, expert-led live meditation and wellness programs that help people and organizations move toward a flourishing state. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Platform. Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Terms of Service.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to everyone who uses the Platform, including:
- Employees / participants who join through their organization to attend sessions and access wellness resources;
- HR administrators who register and manage an organization’s participation; and
- CEL staff and instructors who host and manage sessions.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — your name, work email address, and the organization you belong to.
- Profile information — an optional profile photo or, for organizations, a company logo.
- Display name and profile image — depending on how you join a live session, your display name and profile image may be taken from your account with the video conferencing service or may be entered or changed by you. Information displayed during a live session may be visible to other participants.
- Activity — the sessions you register for (RSVP), attendance, and your notification preferences.
- Communications — messages you send us, for example through our contact form.
- User Content — chat messages, comments, discussion posts, questions, and other content you choose to submit through the Platform.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical data such as device and browser type, and log information necessary to operate and secure the Platform.
- Strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies are used to keep you signed in, maintain security, and enable core Platform functionality. Because these technologies are necessary for the Platform to operate, they generally cannot be disabled through the Platform. We do not use the Platform to serve advertising.
We do not collect payment or financial information — the Platform is provided free of charge.
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and verify your eligibility through your organization.
- To operate the Platform — including scheduling, RSVPs, reminders, attendance, the content library, and facilitating participation in live sessions. During live sessions, your display name and, where applicable, your profile image may be visible to other participants.
- To send you service communications such as welcome messages, session confirmations, and reminders.
- To respond to your inquiries and provide support.
- To maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the Platform.
- To detect, investigate, and help prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents, and other unauthorized or illegal activities.
- To create anonymized summaries or excerpts of user feedback and User Content for educational, promotional, and marketing purposes, where appropriate.
- To understand, in aggregated and, where reasonably practicable, de-identified form, how the Platform is used so we can improve it.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers. We use trusted service providers that perform services on our behalf, including authentication, cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics, customer support, video conferencing, and other services necessary to operate the Platform. During live sessions, our video conferencing provider may display participant information, such as display names and profile images, in accordance with the provider’s functionality. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
- Your organization. If you join through an employer or organization, limited information — such as your participation, attendance, session registrations, and other information reasonably necessary to administer the wellness program — may be visible to that organization’s authorized administrators for the purpose of running the wellness program.
- Other participants. During live sessions, other participants may be able to see your display name and, where applicable, your profile image, as provided by or associated with the video conferencing service you use to join the session. If the service allows you to modify your display name or profile image, we encourage you to choose information that reflects the level of privacy you are comfortable with.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information where required by law, legal process, or valid governmental request, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, CEL, or the public.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform, and thereafter only as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may ask us to delete your account and associated personal data (see “Your rights” below). Deleting your account may not immediately remove information that we are required or permitted to retain under applicable law, including for legal, security, or recordkeeping purposes.
6. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can:
- Update your profile and notification preferences within the Platform;
- Ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information; and
- Contact us with any privacy question or complaint.
To exercise any of these rights, please reach out through our Contact Us page. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
We do not use your personal information to make automated decisions or profile you in ways that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach requiring notification under applicable law, we will provide any required notices in accordance with those legal requirements.
8. International transfers
CEL operates as a global network. As a result, your personal information may be processed in countries other than the one in which you live, including the United States. Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as contractual protections or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms, for international transfers of personal information.
9. Children
The Platform is intended for use by adults in a workplace context and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
11. Contact us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your information, please reach out through our Contact Us page. This Privacy Policy forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service.
